On funding, design and construction
Section 1: What Will You Be Using the Facility For?
If you’re planning on opening a facility up for community use—either for revenue, or to satisfy grant funding requirements—considering local needs will be another key factor in your planning process.
For example, there may be several sport-specific facilities in your area, but nothing dedicated to general use. We’ll cover this in more detail in Section 2.
Alternatively, if there is a need for a sport-specific facility in your area, you may be able to secure funding from the National Governing Body for the sport.
Case in point:
So, it's a good idea to visit the relevant National Governing Body website as part of your initial research. That way, you'll be aware of what's available at an early stage and can plan accordingly.
